The abundance of chestnut and acacia trees in the nearby groves, prompted us to produce superior quality, single flower (monofloreale) honey: acacia honey in June and chestnut honey in July.
Chestnut honey in warm milk helps cure hoarseness. Adding chocolate to acacia honey makes a delicious snack for the kids, while adults love to mix honey and dried fruit.
The slow fermentation of the honey, first discovered by the Egyptians then used by the Greeks and the Romans, produces “idromele”, the nectar of the gods. Try it fresh as an appetizer with herb pecorino cheese or as a dessert at room temperature with shavings of good chocolate.
Within our estate is a shop where you can buy olive oil, honey, chestnut flour and pork meat. On request we also organize tastings in the cellar.
